Molding and pouring is the final stage in the casting process. Molds are formed from a sand mixture which is heated and compressed under high pressure. Once the molds are made cores are inserted where needed and the molten metal is poured into the mold. After cooling, the mold is broken apart to reveal the solidified castings. These castings are then sent through a vibratory process to remove any loose sand and core material. The castings are cut off the gates, ground where needed and prepared for shipment.
